1. TRANSPORT
In Slovenia we have three international airports, but the most important is Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport. From the airport you can take the bus to the city centre. It takes about 30 minutes and it leaves every hour.
There's one major international port in Slovenia - Luka Koper. It is one of the most important ports for containers and cars in the Adriatic Sea.
In Slovenia we have very good railway connections. But most of them are really old, so some routes can be very slow. A major renovation is planned. Also, most trains are covered with graffiti. However, you can get a Eurail pass for Slovenia, Austria, Croatia and Serbia. For that you will get 70% discount.
The motorways are the fastest way to travel across Slovenia (speed limit is 130 km/h). And the most expensive, too. If you want to use them, you have to buy a vignette. For one week it costs 15€, for one month it is 30€, and for a year you have to pay 95€.
2. PLACES TO STAY
There are different places to stay when you visit the country. Hotels with spa, tourist farms, mountain cabins are very popular.
But if you go to the seaside, we recommend staying in hotel. The most known is hotel Grand Hotel Palace in Portorož.
If you visit the mountains, you should go camping. We recommend Campsite Zlatorog at Bohinj.
When you visit Ljubljana, the best choice is the youth hostel Celica. In the past the same building was a prison.
3. GENERAL INFORMATION
